Animation Types Digiquest

Animations usually fall into one of these three categories - 2D, 3D or Stopmotion.

Animation Course Types


Types of Animation:

Traditional animation--Animators will draw images on a transparent piece of paper fitted using a colored pencil, one frame at the time.
Example: Cel, Hand Drawn

2D Vector based animation-- The Animations and In-between things are brought over to a process called ink-and-paint.
Example:Vector Based

3D computer animation--  Digitally modeled on screen, and then fitted with a Blue print that allows animators to animate the models for their use.
Example:CGI, Computer Animation

Motion graphics-- Extend beyond the most commonly used methods of frame-by-frame footage and animation.
Example:Typography, Animated Logos

Stop motion--Stop motion is an animation technique that physically manipulates an object so that it appears to move on its own. 
Example:Claymation, Cut-Outs
